Vista la complessa situazione europea\u00a0altri punti relativi al principio di indipendenza e autodeterminazione dei popoli e alla revisione delle pretese coloniali poterono essere accolti\u00a0nei Trattati di Pace solo parzialmente. La presenza di Wilson, primo presidente americano a viaggiare in Europa in virt\u00f9 del proprio mandato, segn\u00f2 un cambiamento decisivo nelle strategie di politica estera degli Stati Uniti.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>The Nobel Peace Prize<\/b><b> 1919<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That year the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the president of the United States of America Thomas Woodrow Wilson, for his important role in the Peace Conference held in Versailles after the end of the First World War. Wilson articulated in fourteen points the principles whose application, in his opinion, could bring to a lasting time of peace: the removal of economic barriers, the reduction of national armaments, and the creation of an association of nations to act as guarantor. Some other points, like the principle of independence and self-determination of the people and the revision of colonial claims, could not be integrally applied during the negotiations with the European countries.
